The 10th DNFI Innovation in Natural Fibres Award celebrates innovation, creativity and the growing potential of natural fibres. The Award recognises outstanding projects, technologies and applications that demonstrate how natural fibres can contribute to innovative products and more sustainable solutions.
Following the official announcement during the annual member meeting in January 2026, the application period opened on 5 August. With the submission deadline on 30 September now passed, the Award enters its next phase: applicant coordination, expert jury selection and the evaluation process.
From Applications to Expert Evaluation
The Award process brings together innovators working with natural fibres and experts who assess the submitted projects. The next milestones focus on preparing the jury, distributing the application documents and coordinating the evaluation.
Recognising Innovation in Natural Fibres
Through the DNFI Innovation in Natural Fibres Award, the Discover Natural Fibres Initiative aims to raise the visibility of these developments and connect the people and organisations driving innovation in natural fibres. The first online jury meeting is scheduled on 15 October marks an important step in coordinating the expert evaluation. The subsequent evaluation activities will bring the submitted innovations into focus and support the Award’s objective of highlighting the potential of natural fibres worldwide.
