At January 8th 2020 between 10:30 AM and 11:00 AM, the winners of the DNFI Innovation Award 2019 will be recognized. Two researchers from India and the USA collaborated on the development of a biodegradable cotton-jute fabric with a waterproof coating that can substitute for non-biodegradable PVC-coated polyester. This cost-effective natural fibre product was developed with support from the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, and the Hon. Mr. Moloy Chandan Chakrabortty, Jute Commissioner of India will participate in the Award Ceremony.
Furthermore, DNFI members and representatives of natural fiber organizations will participate in the ceremony, e.g.:
