The 2026 DNFI Innovation in Natural Fibres Award has received 26 submissions from 13 countries across Europe, Asia, Australia and North America. This international response shows how much creative and scientific energy is currently going into natural fibres.
Natural fibres are renewable, versatile and increasingly engineered for demanding uses. Their relevance for industry reaches well beyond apparel and home textiles, into technical textiles, composites and high-performance materials.
A sincere thank you to all participants for your ideas and research, your expertise and your commitment to a more sustainable future. Every submission contributes to showing what natural fibres can achieve.
And a small wink to the international DNFI jury: with this level of quality across the board, choosing a winner will be quite a challenge.
The DNFI Board members are seeing forward to welcome the final winner during the annual meeting in January 2027 in Frankfurt, Germany and for the Award Ceremony which is planned for the following day at Messe Frankfurt.
