DNFI at ICC Bremen 2024 – Discover Natural Fibres Initiative

The Discover Natural Fibres Initiative will conduct a meeting on Government Measures Affecting Natural Fibres on the margins of the International Cotton Conference Bremen 2024. The DNFI meeting will be held in a hybrid format in the rooms of the Bremen Cotton Exchange in Bremen and virtually on Friday, 22nd March 2024 starting at 11:30 AM (German Time).

Dalena White, Secretary General of the International Wool Textile Organization (IWTO) will provide an update on the various Green Economy initiatives within the EU. Other speakers will summarize the NY Fashion Act and interventions in producing countries that affect natural fibre production.

There will be time for a discussion of the regulatory developments in end-use markets and producing countries as to whether there is any role for DNFI in trying to inform natural fibre industries about these initiatives.

In addition, there will be a brief discussion of arrangements for the DNFI Stand at Techtextil 23-26 April 2024 in Frankfurt. The DNFI stand will be in Booth A76 in Hall 9.1. The booth is in the Nature Performance Area and will feature natural fibre industries and future materials.

DNFI will emphasize four natural fibre product areas: bio composites, construction materials, packaging and technical textiles. Within these four product areas, we will be showcasing all natural fibres and their applications.

All DNFI members will receive free tickets for the Techtextil and as well for the Texprocess trade fair from 23 to 26 April in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Information on how to obtain tickets will be announced during the Bremen meeting.
